Hi

I just had to reply to this one......hehe. I have several browsers installed. The standard windoz peice of crap IE6.0 sp1, Mozilla 1.4 rct3 an excellant browser, Netscape 7.02 fair as a browser goes, and last but not least, Opera 7.11 powerful and very fast. These are on my windoz box. On my Linux I have, Gaelon for gnome an excellent one, Mozilla 1.3b and Opera 7.11 for Linux. While I use most of these for Web page testing, the only one I surf the web with is Opera. While I can't say it is for the basic computer user, because it requires some tweaking for it to work with all windozs applications. It can be done and the new pop 3 mail support surpasses Outlook Express in leaps and bounds, with auto spam filtering and mailing lists D/B's. Opera is almost twice as fast as most browsers and has built in pop-up surpression and a great download manager. Just a great browser. Man this sounds like an add for Opera...... Very Happy Very Happy

Everyone should use Mozilla Firefox/Thunderbird. IE/Outlook is crapola.

Well I use to love Opera, but the last windoz upgrade was hosed. I never could get it to work with WIN98 right again. So I gave up on it. Went to Mozilla as my main browser for Windoz and Linux.

Mozilla for Linux rocks and is as solid as they come. It also has a load of cool apps for it. I also installed Firefox on my linux and it is a ok browser. I think it still needs some work to be a great browser, but it is going in the right direction.

I tried Thunderbird for linux and was not impressed that much. I feel Mozilla's mail client is a much better and more robust mail client. Also a lot easier to configure. I could never seem to get Open-PGP working properly in Thunderbird.
